REMEMBER THAT ALL OF US HAVE LIVED YOUR LIFE– SOME STILL DO WITH THEIR CLOSEST LOVED ONES LOCKED UP AND SUFFERING MIGHTILY. WONDERING IF ANYONE CAN REALLY HELP. YES, WE THINK ABOUT THE OTHER SIDE TOO THEFOLKS WHO CLAIM TO BE, OR ARE IN REALITY THE UNFORTUNATE BENEFACTORS OF SOMEONE ELSE’S BEHAVIOR.

BE THANKFUL FOR WHAT REMAINS, FOR FUTURES THAT ARE STILL POSSIBLE, AND FOR BLESSINGS THAT COULD HAVE BEEN LOST BUT WEREN’T. REMEMBER THAT EVEN IN DARK PLACES, THERE IS LIGHT TO BE SHARED.

I’D LIKE TO PASS ALONG A PERSONAL MESSAGE IF YOU ALL WILL INDULGE ME A LITTLE. WHILE IT SOUNDS CHEESY TO BEING FILLED WITH GRATITUDE, FOR ME IT WORKED – THIS AND THE AMAZING VILLAGE OF A FEW GOOD MEN FOUND IN ANY PRISON SETTING. WE ARE TO BE THANKFUL FOR WHAT WE STILL HAVE, AND WHAT FUTURES ARE STILL POSSIBLE.

THE HOLIDAYS AMPLIFY EVERY EMOTION. FROM THANKSGIVING TO CHRISTMAS, EASTER TO MOTHER’S DAY, THE WEIGHT OF LONELINESS AND THE STING OF MEMORIES MAKE IT NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO ESCAPE THE ACHE. YOUR INCARCERATED LOVED ONE IS FIGHTING TO STAY STRONG, TO SMILE DESPITE IT ALL, SURROUNDED BY OTHERS EQUALLY NUMB. OFTEN, THEY SINK INTO THOUGHTS OF LOSS: LOSS OF FREEDOM, LOSS OF PURPOSE, AND LOSS OF WHAT “COULD HAVE BEEN.”

FOR FAMILIES AND LOVED ONES, THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS GIVING TOO MUCH LOVE, OFFERING TOO MUCH GRACE, OR HOLDING ON TOO MUCH HOPE.
